Designing My Website & Gathering Feedback!

Heya!

Today has been a wonderful day - I firstly arrived at the center with my sketchbook etc. as I will be needing to take pictures of my drawing eventually. For 30 minutes, I spent my time loading my webpage's code up on Notepad++ and added comments to explain why I used a specific tag in particular for the creation of my website. I relaid out both the HTML and CSS code; such as indentations, good naming conventions, comments, chronological order, and white line spaces.

When the lesson started, we immediately cracked on with whatever outstanding work we have left. I firstly asked "Zoetic Zoe" about the first task on assignment four where I will need to create a survey to review my website at least once during its production. However, I firstly wanted to add a little more to my website in general, which was a footer and some content of the homepage. As I am starting to get the hang of coding, and with the help of the internet, tutor, and peers. I have managed to create a good quality front! I even took pictures of my drawing from my sketchbook and created a .GIF with it for the front cover. Additionally, there were some things I was itching to change such as the background and logo, however I will need to wait for the review section.

Later on, me and "Zoetic Zoe" went through SurveyMonkey and picked out questions I could ask to other peers regarding the website's functionality, appearance, and purpose. When it was created, I had to wait for "Jovial John" and "Zoetic Zoe" to upload my website to the college's server system. Of course, it didn't work and it took a long time for this to be fixed. For a temporary fix, I dragged my HTML and CSS along with my folder structure on my USB to the tutor's computer, where "Zoetic Zoe" was able to upload my webpage onto the internet. This allowed me to send the survey and webpage link to several people so I can gather feedback.

During lunch, I played basketball with Joe B, Alex W, Adam M, and Sami H. We all practiced our shots - mainly three pointers. I got one in, but then started to miss my shots; I think my arm wasn't feeling it to day, therefore I'll be awaiting on Monday's recovery.

Of course, the link was done using an FTP protocol, therefore it doesn't always show up on people's screens when the system is always overloaded with a lot of other users. This meant that I will need to wait until Monday for when I start U28A4T1. In the meantime, I did some extra coding and created additional assets that I will soon replace.

Overall, today was a huge success. Some factors slightly slowed me down but I am still on course to completing a fully functional website! I am thankful Zoe helps me a tonne because I now feel much more confident than when I first started. (I will need to do a before and after of when I started and when I finished). Until Monday!
