Bowl the Progress!

Hi all,

Yesterday was a normal fine day where we all continued developing our games. I decided I was to create a testing-debugging document after I finish the game instead as it would be easier to break harder parts of the coding and show how I fixed it previously. By doing this, it will save a humongous amount of time.

I then spent the whole day fixing bugs that really "bugged" me, the puns... I firstly fixed the character animations through trial and error by changing and adding new variables. Eventually, I added an entire new chunk of code that allows the player to show different sprites during different movements. This spans a good bit of code, so I will do my best to simplify this eventually for efficiency. I also managed to get the enemies to flip by re-adding the animations I created using Photoshop, and lastly I messed around with the port screen settings, level settings and size. This is to get a good measurement for the main title screen of the game which I managed to implement within the last hour of the day.

Moving onto today, me and many students including the tutors from college went to bowling in Riverside - just 10 minutes down the road but it took them 20 minutes. We bowled for two games and had a drink each. The day overall was very relaxing yet very competitive as at the start I missed a lot of shots, but this was to set my muscle memory to memories the location I would step and to release the bowling ball. I also adjusted the weight of the ball, from very light to very heavy - this is so I can give it a curve with my power rather than going straight into the side lanes. I picked this up by observation. At the end of the first game, Matt B won and got a present of swag plastic glasses shaped in the form of Christmas trees. During the next game, I stepped up my level and got much more hits. Our lane (level 3's) competed with the other (level 2's) and we dominated them. The metal railways were up for the first game but was down on the second as we didn't need them any more. At one point we also decided to the assisting-tool (where you place and push the ball to get a clear shot, usually used by younger ages) for banterous reasons, I pushed mine a bit too hard and it went to the side of the lane immediately, not good. However, at the end of the second game, "Jovial John" won but gave the present prize to the second winner, Matt T. He got a small bin shaped in the form of the ones we have outside our homes for his litter on a desk.

Soon after we all departed. Callum B, Matt T and myself went to kufca (KFC) and ate some unhealthy food as we almost died due to starvation. I then walked around to see what deals there are but I didn't want to spend any money, good waste of time to digest food... I then went home and spent a good hour creating the second enemy (zombie) to move across the platform successfully without any collision issues. After two hours of stress, I fixed the issue (animation issues) and so it works.
