When I first entered the centre with Ben R, I immediately asked with some help on assignment one, specifically on the XHTML part as he had done that presentation with Adam M before. However, he wasn't so clear himself so I decided to start on HTML5. Before the "Amazing Adam" started to teach, I instantly copied and pasted some useful links I found into the word document and will use it in my full Harvard reference and or bibliography.
At the start of the day, we all played the vocabulary word game where we were split into groups of threes and fours. Within each group, we were given an alphabet ('n') and we had to think of a word related to the topic 'animation'. Once we come up with a word, anticlockwise another person would do the same. For example, I say 'new' and the next would say 'wonderful'. (Not related but you get the point). We got around a total of five words in the end as it was incredibly difficult especially if some words used x, y, or z.
Afterwards, we all indulged into the second assignment where we look at the differences between brainstorms, spider diagrams, mind maps, and mood boards. For each different ideas, the detail and development increases. This is related to the main assignment as we need our ideas for our webpage banners (brief). I found this a fun task as I managed to get a lot done. All I remain with is the mind map and mood board, along with some simplex explanations for my reasons.
At the end of the day, we all spent our remaining session on animation in Flash. I got some more of my train moving but I am finding it difficult to actually distinguish the symbols' usage. My common issue is that I create a 'movie clip' symbol and then add a motion tween, this still does not move/animate. Consequently, I asked the "Amazing Adam" any questions I needed to understand before I left. Additionally, I also saved all of my work and successfully transferred it to my memory stick. As well as this, a lot of work is still needed to be done and to combat this, I have made a to do list.
Overall, today was a really good day in general, I progressed in different areas and I am enjoying the unit overall. My animating skills may be a little weak so I may try to improve them (finding it difficult as I do not have the software). Over the half term, I will be working on my outstanding work.
