Successful Pitches!

Sup all!

Today was an instant rush to a good day. The blog stars were Alex S and Adam M. Although the blog stars did outstandingly well, the "Amazing Adam" has also complimented everyone else as "90% of the class used level 3 English". Moving on, this morning was very tiring and everyone was nervous due to the fact that we had to present our assets using PowerPoint or Prezi. As a class, we took turns in reversed alphabetical order and seven people presented in one go. During my presentation, I was very nervous at first as I thought I wouldn't be able to speak a word. However, after a perfect introduction to my first slide, I did very well afterwards throughout the rest of the remaining slides. This is because I had practised at home yesterday whenever I was alone to prepare my confidential levels (the preparation helped!) - I explained my assets, the reasons why I chose the colours, and relating it back to the criteria. I strongly believe mine went well and was unique as I had explained points other have not mentioned. On the other hand, I have went slightly over the 2 minute timing the "Amazing Adam" timed. I finished with a detailed conclusion and was very happy when it was over.

As I have mentioned above, for every seven people who presented, we had to answer and respond to their surveys. We did this by emailing each other our surveys and we all took time to participate in this task. It was very time consuming, but as it led to results which showed feedback. Around the class, there were lots of positive but yet also some improvement feedback. This means some of our assets has not hit all of the target audience. (We improved by continuing A4 later).

At some point during the day, Catherine talked to the whole class about student finance in the life of university. We covered a lot of what we can do and a lot of what people did do. This was purposely said to get us preparing and thinking of our choices in the future. Catherine emphasized that a course costs a lot of money and deciding is a big decision. This had a massive impact on me as I have never realised there are so many factors to consider and or pay for during life in university. Things that made me think and realise more about the future are: grants/loans, rent, travel and even smaller things like laundry! It feels like a lot of weight has just been put onto myself. I will remove the heavy load by talking to my parents about it as it should help ease my anxiety.

In the last part of the day before self-study, we started to improve our assets by looking at which questions had the most improvement-response related. I improved my asset by adding and changing some colours on my assets. This will allow me to reach a higher hit of the target audience. I did this throughout the self-study period too. Lastly, I organised my to-do list and prepared for Wednesday's work at home. Today was an important day, and we all overall learnt a new experience in pitching.
