Website Planning!

Hey!

When I arrived to the center this morning (I swear this is the same introduction to my blog everyday... Haha!) I drew, again. Yes, consistency is key to success! After a while, the starter was meant to be our weekly quiz. However, Jordan B forgot to make it and therefore he has proven to have followed Brandon B's legacy (mistake), heh. So after skipping the quiz until tomorrow morning, "Zoetic Zoe" went through the Scheme of Learning and thoroughly explained what we need to do in assignment three's task one. As I have very little knowledge about this unit overall, I had to ask Zoe for assistance a lot more, but that is only because I am determined to learn and aim higher - so I thank her for always helping me when I need it most.

As a result, I started U28A3T1. I firstly wrote about the Terms of Reference. In this paragraph, it was essentially regarding what the main purpose of my website's existence is. As this task is only worth a pass criteria, logically speaking they would not require a huge amount of detail. Next, I explained the structure diagram my website will follow - out of the different hierarchies, my website will be in the structure of a 'matrix', which means every page's navigation will correspond and link to the other. To help enhance my explanations, I used Photoshop CS6 and made a quick simple diagram in order to portray this across.

Eventually, I got paper and sketched out the design of my website. As I am creative, I am able to visualise in my head the final appearance. However, due to my inexperience and lack of knowledge on this broad topic (especially the coding), I am unaware of what I can produce, therefore I kept the HTML design simple. I will eventually learn CSS in order to improve the aesthetic qualities of my website and would be mentioned in the evaluation, feedback, and improvement stage. After drawing all the average looks of the five pages (home, about me, portfolio, CV, and contact), I scanned them onto the computer. As I used pencil, the expected result was it being too light to view, therefore I needed to go over it in pen and this had decreased my motivation due to time consumption. Eventually, I pulled through this, re-scanned, then explained.

Nearer the end of the day, I then mentioned how my website's files and sub-folders would be laid out. I briefly explained why: as having separate folders will allow me to have a fixed and clean layout. Other than this, this will beneficially aid me in changing things such as my housing style, e.g. header. When changing one file in one folder, everything linked to it will follow. The last thing I had to do was then to create an action plan that explains what I will be doing over the course of this unit from the planning, asset making, code learning, to the website production and evaluation/feedback/improvements. I also gave myself some contingency time at the end. For this part, I was unsure on the overall layout on excel, so I asked "Zoetic Zoe" for help.

Overall, today is yet another productive day because I had managed to get one whole task completed within today's initial release. In preparation, what I can do is read the Scheme of Learning for tomorrow's new assignment (worth a Merit and Distinction), and also create my assets. In this case it would be my drawings for the portfolio, therefore I will continue my drawing regardless at my own pace. I will also be proof reading my work, then show Zoe my progress and see what constructive critique she can give me tomorrow.

That's it for today, bye!
P.S: I say 'therefore' way too much.
