In this cold morning (it didn't snow... noooo *fake scream*) I arrived 30 minutes early. Within this time, I proof read the the guide for "how to use Skype" and made any changes needed when I spot mistakes. In the end, I managed to get this done and dusted, woop! In the last minute before the first lesson started, I saw that "Jovial John" had sent me back U10A1T2 Part 4. 5. 6. and 7. I had quickly downloaded them and renamed them appropriately in my documents.
Then lesson one started, the "Amazing Adam" firstly paired us up into groups of two and we were given some terminologies. With these terminologies we had to match these up with the correct definition - these are keywords from the unit in general. Once it has been matched up, me and Connor P answered the extension questions of why it is used and how they all linked up. I believe that it was a very good starter and a refresher for the reflection of our knowledge; I enjoyed it.
Additionally, a man had came in to review the "Amazing Adam"'s progress I presume. He was in the corner whilst making notes of the students' attitude during the first lesson. Afterwards, we then loaded up our mindmaps we created yesterday and added a few more strengths and weaknesses of wired and wireless connection - this is to help us prepare for the third assignment, task two. I also found this useful and a way of learning the task indirectly in a fun atmospheric environment.
Moving on, we then looked at the actual assignment where it says we need to create a report assessing either if wireless or wired connection networks is more effective with strengths and weaknesses. However, to combat and learn about this, the "Amazing Adam" gave us two scenarios (examples) about different companies requiring either wired or wireless networks. We again got paired up into a group of five (different people than last time) and had one leader - Adam M. We split the group into different tasks so we can all contribute to create the PowerPoint we had to. After the first scenario, Joe B's team had to present and we gave them their good's and improvements. After the second scenario, it was our team's turn and I believe it went really well. Improvements were body language for some team members and less fillers (which I agree).
Consequently, everyone then started to realise we are covering a lot of work and getting very little done (due to the excessive amount of work outstanding). Combating this, we all pleaded the "Amazing Adam" to give us time to start cracking on. As a result, he did - what a legend. I firstly decided to continue the third assignment's first task, where I had to also create a user guide to explain how to send contact information via Bluetooth - an internet protocol labelled as 802.15.1. I did this by screen-shotting the different stages of sending a file using Bluetooth on my phone, whilst sending the file to Matt (uses Android HTC One). Soon later, I had completed this but it was time consuming.
Soon later, we did the Thursday Quiz (delayed a day to today instead) made by Adam M. It was about the evolution of 4G and the network services' history. I had learnt a few new facts such as HSPA+ is a faster version of 3G and that is sends 7mbps whereas 4G sends 5mbps. In the end, I managed to get 6 out of 10 as I had missed some questions out due to the video being too quick. As a result, Brandon B got the lowest of two (YES, finally!) and now he has to make next week's quiz.
Then we again continued our work. I started working on smaller bits of work to start the process of elimination - completing the easier/almost finished work to get them out of the way. Additionally, during self study Catherine recommended me to submit my game into an entry. I believe this is an opportunity to show other people my game and my progress - if it is noticed I will want to improve and hopefully include this in my portfolio for University.
