Hey!
This morning, I arrived to the college building and firstly dragged any files I worked throughout the half term and updated it onto the college computer. Once done, I then updated U28A1T4 into the submitted folders. Over the weekend, I also obtained a distinction in Web Development, Unit 28 (eighth unit). I felt very proud of myself and felt like I have reached another step upwards.
For the starter with "Jovial John", we all did a very long recap-like quiz. This quiz was all about our current unit: Computer Systems, Unit 2. After all, "Jovial John" expected us to work through assignment one throughout the half term and therefore we should have a substantial amount of knowledge. In this quiz, there were 28 questions with a total of 50 marks. In the end, I got 30 because I failed to remember some important information that I had learnt over the half term during my assignments. Joe B, Sami H, and Alex S won with over 40 marks in total and was rewarded a make-shift Oculus rift, but with phones instead.
Then the lesson started, as a class "Jovial John" went through assignment two, which only consists of one task. There, he taught about the different considerations and priorities we need to bare in mind when recommending a computer system for a business proposal. One example he did was drawing out the college's redundancy method and layout. It was interesting to learn new keywords as it both helps the coursework and allows me to go into an in-depth understanding. When we started the task, I firstly gave an introduction then followed by the business proposal/specification. Next, I decided on the consideration points I will be mentioning throughout the recommendation report. These are factors and priorities that "Jovial John" has discussed with us. At the end of the day, I continued to work on my assignment as well as completing any resubmissions from "Zoetic Zoe" and then putting the SoL and work in the submitted folders.
As returning to college, it is tiring but the good news is that it is the final stretch till the end! Overall, today was a lot of explaining and taking in difficult information that is now easier to interpret. John and Catherine also spoke about taking different outside courses to enhance our university personal statements/applications. For me, personally I think I have already taken additional planning and measures in advancement. I have been drawing alone for a while but I have taken it up to the next step and decided to have a private art tutor to teach me different medium usage as well as drawing in general. Once I have learnt the basics, I can expand on the pathway I'd like to go to. In addition, I am also reading up many books about Games Design (character). I am also having Traditional Chinese classes outside which will help me communicate to more people in the future.
My plans for tonight is to work slightly more on assignment two, and then finish the rest tomorrow as it seems very self-explanatory once "Jovial John" explained it several times. As I am updated, I do not require to come in on Wednesday unless I like to go further.
