Unit 37 2D Animation Completion!

Hey!

During this morning, I arrived at the centre early as usual. I spent 30 minutes practising my drawing as well as talking to Matthew T and Matthew B about our presentation method. When the day started, our first activity was to find and match the right word to the four images, the word I got right was "review". That's right! Today is purely feedback and review as we will begin our U37A4T1 Evaluation Report. However, I've started this on Tuesday and therefore am very ahead with Joe B.

Our starter for today was to identify the criteria's for this assignment, then match the grade towards the corresponding quote. After, I did the extension where I highlighted the key terminologies as it has helped me understand the task. As I was first to finish, I can definitely say I enjoyed this as it recaps us about the work.

Next, the "Amazing Adam" sent us another document with different presentation methods in a table. Next to it are empty boxes where we filled out at least three strengths and weaknesses of each. This has been beneficial to me because it has allowed me to identify methods in which our group could present in. Additionally, I finished quick and moved onto the extension again where I started to come up with an entirely different way to present (video).

Afterwards, we moved onto starting our evaluations. Over the period of Tuesday and Wednesday, I dedicated my time in getting ahead. As a result I have finished the introduction, explained the presentation and review methods as well as commenting on a list of criteria's our animations aim to achieve. I have also created a document with questions specifically targeting the aesthetic qualities. I sent this to Joe B, Euan J and Alex W as their detailed and extensive feedback would be more than enough for me to critically analyse their supporting and non-supporting arguments. Their reviews will also help me identify improvements. Notice that in this part I have been more independent from the group as I did not want to be held back. Matthew T and Matthew B did close questions, which for me would not be beneficial for the distinction grade.

Whilst they were answering the questions and watching my group's animation. I watched and reviewed other people's animations. This has allowed me to be time efficient. Once I have received the feedback, I inserted their answers into a formatted table. I then begun to critically evaluate and analyse their feedback in detail. I did this by looking at both sides of the argument, and then giving a final conclusion to how I am improve a specific aspect of the animation. I enjoyed this part as I like to find problems and solve them with potential positive changes.

Moving onwards, I dedicated the whole day aiming to complete the evaluation. By the end of the day, I have gotten up to a point where I am near finishing and therefore I am permitted to not come into college tomorrow. All I have left to complete is the evaluation (then submit), the end of unit survey and this blog. For tomorrow and the weekend, I can spend more time on drawing!

Today is also the last day I will be with the "Amazing Adam" for the rest of the academic year. I would like to personally thank him very much for his efforts and his will to help me. He has helped me become succinct, made me more able to be working in a team as a leader, and has guided me to success. Thank you.

These are the questions that Adam has asked us to answer:

What was the best part of today?
The best part of today was both getting the feedback from my peers as well as spending lunch together. Yesterday was Adam's birthday and therefore we played the play the parcel game! I didn't win anything but I am happy for those who did. I also enjoyed the lunch session where I played basketball with Joe B. I've started to get back to it as I'm practising my shots.

What have you learnt today?
Today I haven't much, but I have recapped on a lot of reliable information as well as practising to becoming more succinct. I have also practised more drawing and my figure drawing skills has improved drastically.

How will this help you in the world of work?
By creating open questions for feedback, in the world of work consumers can give detailed recommendations to further improvements. For reviewing, it enables you to judge on your opinion how well something went and the results can be taken into account for improvement.
