Today is another progressive yet concentrating day where we focused purely on self-independent coursework. To recap for yesterday, I spent time catching up slowly on U37A1T2 for the animation pioneers - I have been as succinct as I can be. This has made me slightly ahead for today and allows me to feel prepared beforehand.
For the starter, we had been given a word document where we were required to match up the word to the corresponding image. The words were 'Realistic', 'Geometric', 'Colourful', 'Detailed', and 'Simple'. It was a relatively easy task as I the images are simple to interpret; this has reminded me to be more descriptive in general overall. Moreover, as I have completed this task fairly quickly, I managed to move onto the extension where I used a website that contains a lot of useful words I could further add to describe the following images. Lastly at the end, we all did a group feedback. This was to help our opinions in our current outstanding work and it certainly has for me.
Moving onwards throughout the day, we all continued our work in harmony. I was immediately able to start on the animation developers' sector and so I firstly begun with Walt Disney - working my way through to Hanna-Barbera, Warner Bros, and Normal McLaren. During the research of these famous pioneers, I had learnt a range of useful information about their work life and history. Their experimentation's and results of it, which was advantageous to my work.
One thing that remains to get my brain thinking is the relationship and links it has with each and one another - I remember when I first typed about the phenakistoscope where it was considered to be the first device that reads animation all the way throughout to its development and evolution. Now, I've been able to piece together from point A to point B as I have learnt that all of the pioneers have collaborated together and passed on their information, which results in a positive impact to the society and generations. Though, I have struggled slightly on finding examples' key dates. However, this is not an issue as I have successfully promised myself to take my time and progress at my pace.
After Lunch, the "Amazing Adam" began to explain the third task of our current assignment where will need to evaluate two of the contemporary work. As for now, I am unable to move onto that stage until I have finished the second task. This is because I will be researching more information about the contemporary work during that point.
Throughout to the end of the day and self-study time, I used this period to continue on any work. My plans for the weekends are to complete the second task by tonight, proof read and double check everything on Saturday, and then finally using the questions the "Amazing Adam" sent us all to evaluate the last task. Overall, today has been a calm day for me. I've been working at my utmost concentration but my work speed is still slow as I constantly stop to refer my work back to back against the criteria, I don't regret this as I am determined to reach the distinction criteria.
Until Monday.
