Workaholic Mode: Activate!

Hey all,

Before I tell you my day, I must first tell you about Wednesday on our day off. During Wednesday, I completed the annotated screenshots document as well as the debugging evidence at home for U22A3, a lot of blood, tears, and sweat has been shed that day to complete it... but it was worth!

Anyway - to this chilly morning, I immediately finished the rest of assignment three by explaining the different types of test strategies. I mentioned that the fact that I have applied white box testing, black box testing and user feedback in general. White box testing is when you look from the code inside out to the aesthetics, whereas black box testing is where you look from the outside to the insides, so the overall appearance and functionality of the assets.

After completing a big long assignment that had been on-going for a month or so, I finally submitted my game as a .gmx file as well as I have executed an application for my game in a .exe file format. Additionally, I have also attached all of my work including the debugging evidence, annotated screenshots and test strategies. At that time, I felt a great sense of accomplishment.

Afterwards, I moved onto completing the table for the fourth and final week of my PDP (personal development plan). I realised that I had completed all six of my targets I set two days ago in under 48 hours... What a proud achievement for myself! After filling in the dates for my final PDP, I asked "Zoetic Zoe" and she went through the Scheme of Learning to briefly explain about the last part of U1A3T2 from the previous unit, which is to create a report to review my progress and emotions.

An hour or so later, I finished the report and I made sure I triple proof-read as well as making sure I follow everything required to achieve the distinction criteria. The SoL stated that I must identify any areas for improvements as well as how my progress went by discussing it. This allowed the completion of Unit 1 (will be submitted on Monday), therefore I started to drag and drop the finished and marked files into the submitted folder in the Student Write Area. I have also started to fill in the Scheme of Learning to tick off my checklist, however I found it difficult to decide which file names to give it. ("Zoetic Zoe" will help me eventually some point).

As I complete series of work, I was on the roll. To continue the burning fire inside of me, I opened the email "Zoetic Zoe" returned to me (U22A1) and made the identified and recommended changes, I then tidied up my files/documents and was ready to move onto the U22A4, the last assignment of this topic (deadline: 13/01/15). After a good lunch break, I had a bit of rest as others played my game for the sole of pure entertainment. On the other hand, whilst doing so I was also multitasking by helping other students with their code as well as their written theory work - I believe I have set somewhat an example and influence others to reach to a certain standard, which is unbelievably good.

Soon later, with the help of "Zoetic Zoe" showing me work from the previous year, I got a grip of what to do for the manual and therefore I have started to use Photoshop CS6 once again to design and create the manual

which should include (at least for my targets):

  • Main Cover [Done]
  • Introduction [Done]
  • Instructions [In Progress]
  • Characters Details and Information [In Progress]
  • FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions [In Progress]

Manual - Front Cover
Manual - Introduction
Although I work incredibly hard at college and outside, it seems like I rush my performance. However, that is not the case! I'd just like to pin point out that really I enjoy working and the current unit overall, so the interest help too. I am dedicated to try and achieve the best grade I could ever have, and leave no regrets for the best satisfaction feeling ever.

In overall, today was a super productive day just like any other. I hope to work more and finish my manuals by tomorrow so I could get the smaller details such as filling in my Scheme of Learning out of the way. Then... new unit! (I hear it's going to be a lot of theory).
