Using IT Aids To Communicate Effectively

Thumping Thursday!

Today is Thursday, therefore it means today is Thursday Quiz! Connor P lost last week so this week he presented us a quiz with another video about how the new device 'Spark Core' (company located in China, Shenzen) can use WiFi to connect to tools of everyday electronics for more convenience. I found this compelling! - You can buy your own today in its first manufacture run for only $19 (£12.11), find out more about Spark projects here: Spark | Open source IoT toolkit. At the end, I got a total of 8/10 marks. I came second this time and this is the best I have done yet on Thursday Quizzes! However, I didn't get a reward but Liam B did obtain the duel monitor for the week! Congratulations to him. On the other hand, Ashley P lost the quiz and has to create the next one for next week.

Next, everyone continued working on their A1T1, A1T2, and A1T3. However for me, I have spent the whole of Wednesday working to stay up to date therefore instead, I practiced proof reading by using the word documents "Zoetic Zoe" published. In the end, I managed to find more grammar mistakes than spelling but it was a challenge because the writer had good English to begin with.

After break, "Zoetic Zoe" discussed about our task for A2T1 where we need to create a presentation about the readability of code - we have already done most of the work with "Jovial John" in the last unit. The presentation is for us to pitch to the audience about the readability of code. For this task, we need to have a draft file, amended file, and a final copy. I spent most of the day preparing as well as using IT aids to communicate effectively such as using spell check, comments, and proof reading. At the end of A2T1, it is also required to create a word document where I included email evidence:
  • Evidence of the files with suitable header and information in the body in a new email.
  • Evidence of the files being sent appropriately.
  • Evidence and proof of using at least two IT aids to communicate effectively.
At the end of the day around 14:30pm, I have completed everything and am ready to move onto the next ask in A2T2. I have also finished the whole of A1 yesterday! Today was a straight forward day and nothing big really happened, but concentrated days are always beneficial as we as a class will always get the work done.

During self-study time, I once again proceeded with my usual routine and created meme's of the day for fun! This also improves my speed skills for Photoshop. My plan is to submit A1 at least by today or tomorrow and make sure all the tasks meet the required criteria.
