Thundering Thursday,
Last night I spent a good hour or two making the changes for my A2T1 "Jovial John" sent back. However, this morning was a tiring day after most of us didn't sleep much during our day off on Wednesday, therefore "Jovial John" made us play a countdown game to wake us up. As expected, it is extremely effective. During this time, I was able to reach the target number of 116 as it was relatively easy with the assistance of lucky big numbers. Afterwards, we moved straight onto the weekly Thursday Quiz created by Connor P. The quiz was generally about programming with Notch - the creator of Mojang. In the end, I scored five points out of ten as most of the questions were more observational than factual. However, Chris M got the lowest score of around three, therefore he has to create next week's Thursday Quiz and the winner was Joe B.
After so, "Jovial John" showed us images of some chairs made of pencils. This leads to him discussing and recapping about A2T2 - quality of code and readability. E.g: The usability of a pencil chair is appalling as it will stab your whole body. I understood the requirements of the criteria well therefore I continued to make the improvements and changes to my outstanding work (A2T2) "Jovial John" sent back. As well as improving silly mistakes, I also improved the work by correcting grammatical changes. I spent a good bit of time on this.
I then moved onto improving A3T2 such as adding comments to my program relating back to my specification, explaining how each is met. This is needed so the user can understand why I used certain ranges and specific features/libraries. Furthermore, I changed the file path save directory to a suitable location (C:\Painted\) where "Jovial John" can access and then replaced my old files with the new existing one to update it. Additionally, I also resubmitted my A2 (T1/T2) back to "Jovial John" for remark after making the changes.
During the last part of the day in self-study, I completed the survey for the end of the unit. I was surprised at how much I have improved as I remember I completely looked unintelligent on the first day. I believe this unit is beneficial to me because in the future it will allow me to identify reasons to why things don't work, therefore my working time and efficiency overall will be improved as opposed to not knowing anything. At the end, I updated the Scheme of Learning by adding the date, signature, and stated all of the evidence by mentioning its file formats and file names.
This means I do not have to come into college tomorrow as I am all up to date. The only thing I need to do now is to let "Jovial John" double check my Scheme of Learning to see if the format is correct as I have added new things. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank "Jovial John" for everything he's taught and done for us, as well as for being an epic tutor. Nevertheless, until we meet!
