Today we looked at the primarily colours (red, blue and green) and what the emotions stand for. For example, the colour red represents anger, loving lust and daring danger. the "Amazing Adam" showed us examples such as the Angry Bird logo; it is red because the connotations are anger (hence the name). We also looked at secondary colours, which are purple (royalty), orange (happiness) and green (nature). We then distinct between which one are warm colours and which are cold.
Afterwards, we looked at the features and colours of the characters we designed from the homework. We all walked around and looked at other students' choice of characters and their ideas behind it. Mine was Pikachu, its main colour is yellow (primary colour) and the tail is in the shape of a lightning bolt, moreover the Pokemon creature had brown strikes behind it to show its "wild", as an animal-like creature.
Next, the "Amazing Adam" gave us a specific word, and in Photoshop we created a background and the text based on the word. One word he gave us was 'loyal'. So we used what we learnt and made the background purple as it represents the word loyalty. (In the past, purple was a hard colour to dye as it requires many ingredients, and only the wealthy could afford it, therefore it resembles royalty). We then did this activity for three different words.
Moving on, we chose a character and then changed the character style in a form of monotone, duetone, complementary, analogous and contrasting colours on Pikachu. I used the colour wheel to help me and I saved the colour wheel for future references - this is a good practice because I will need to show evidence to which colours I chose for my character and why.

Lastly, during self study, I finished all of my work and I practiced text-making on Photoshop for my Blogger banner. I made a glass breaking effect with emboss text and added some metalic backgrounds to make the text stand out more. I made the dimensions 750x200 at 72dpi as it is appropriate for the Blogger banner.
Overall, today was an educational and relaxed day, everything learnt today was simple and straight forward. I look forward to more designing work and will be used in the future.
(I will add a picture of my Pikachu design's I have done in future).
