Website Production Advancement!

Heyo!

As explained on Tuesday, I wanted to code my website to be more interactive by showing the title of my artwork when the cursor is hovered upon the image itself. With Alex W's help, he managed to find a working method on Wednesday. During this morning, the first thing I wanted to do is to try out his code for mine. However, the lesson began and we returned to our original seats. As we wait for Gabe H, the peer who was meant to create and present the weekly Thursday Quiz, was not here and arrived late - therefore I used the time proactively to download the re-submission work that "Zoetic Zoe" resent recently. I saw that I have achieved the criteria's and was very happy with myself, however I only have a few slight changes to make.

At the start of the lesson, "Zoetic Zoe" told the whole class to include Meta Tags within the header of our HTML code. Meta Tags are similar to the keywords people search, therefore having good and specific Meta Tags would mean users can find my website easier. I struggled on this part, as every other word is too broad. I have attempted, but decided to leave this and ask Zoe later. In addition, I was clumbsy and forgot the to do list sheet "Zoetic Zoe" wrote for me so I quickly ask her. She gave me a good head start and therefore I decided to complete my website and make the code readable before I advance onto written work.

Needing to complete my website, I completed the fundamental checklist for each webpage; such as an interactive navigational bar. Again, with a lot of personal research, I was able to make it change colour upon contact with the cursor. However, Sami H helped me and we both created a new navigation bar where the underlines fades under the text instead, how cool! Thank you Sami, please check out his blog here. Next, to finish off my portfolio website, I wanted to include at least some college work - which was my game animation and development. With the aid of Ashley P, he showed me his really well written code which allows the re-positioning of the animation as well as an anchor link to a download. With a little experimentation and self-learning, I managed to create the perfect size, center it and even include a border. Thank you Ashley, please check out his blog here. Of course, back to the main man Alex W, he came over and worked with me for over half an hour, with Sami H eventually coming to help. We managed to get the code working 95%, however the 5% really put it off and so I called it off. However, Alex W worked really hard and I am appreciative of my peers' support, please check out Alex W here. In return, I offered to help them with anything that I can handle to make it fair and fun. Then, when the code was removed, it broke the website. With high stress levels, I took a break and had lunch.

At lunch, I didn't play basketball this time. Instead, I played the Xbox with Adam M - since the Xbox would we removed someday, might as well make most of today and to avoid rain (which it didn't rain).

Upon returning, Brandon B decided to do some fiddling around. Eventually, he changed a piece of code in my HTML rather than my CSS, and this aligned all my images and fixed it. Life saver he is! Check him out here too. To take a small break, I started to fill in the surveys from even more peers, including Adam M's, Alex W's, and others. I enjoyed looking at other people's websites and I can see that we can all make it for the deadline as well as their creativity!

Nearer the end of the day, I started to work on another page of my website: qualitifications. Here, the Scheme of Learning required us to include a table so I spent time asking for basic explanations and watching YouTube tutorials. Eventually, I used W3School's code and started from there. As time passes, I searched for different hex codes and filled in the cells of my table - sticking it to my colour scheme!

During my independent study time, I continued my work and planned for tomorrow's to do list. I also asked Pete to how to set up a business proposal for Learners Forums. My idea is cheap alternative bean bags as the social media room would be reduced next academic year. The other class representatives have their own idea, therefore I am sticking to a simple basic idea.

Overall, today had its up and downs but in the end, progress was made and therefore it became successful. My aim now is to complete the website as fast as I can, as well as making it functional and interactive. Until tomorrow!

P.S: I will show screenshots of my website at the end of the unit when it is finished to see the big changes and differences.
