Over the weekend I had been catching up on my animation and I had been documenting down my actions/justifications on my design log. As a result I had managed to do additional work and perfect my current progress level to match the standard criteria. Today is a day where animation is our first and main priority before anything else. However, as a starter we all firstly did a word search the "Amazing Adam" put together for us. This was an interesting and a unique starter as it gets us all in the spirit and sets a working atmospheric environment. In a total of eight different words, Joe B managed to find all of the words first and won a Yorkie chocolate bar (I did not know chocolate is a strong motivational factor...). By the time he did I was very close to finishing too, so if there was a second place I'd fulfill that role. The words were key terminologies related to older units we have covered so far, whilst finding the words it had helped me refresh and think of the word whilst doing so. It is a good tactic to give us better memories.
During the first session we all continued with our animation banners. I had prepared and made a to-do list from last night to give myself a guide to where I am and what events I need to pursue left. I had firstly spent time on making my social icons interactive. I did this by searching the web and trial and error, alongside with self independent exploration. I believe learning how the software works as we learn is a strong way of educating us regarding it. However this is time consuming and is exactly the reason why I work from home daily. In the end I had made my buttons interactive whilst in .SWF file format. Furthermore, throughout the day we all would be reminded to do our reviews which relates to how well we performed from the time scale management we designed; despite I work extra hard on other aspects I have managed to still be on the same level and not fall behind as I kept my head down. I was thoroughly concentrated to complete this.

At some point during the first session, Catherine took one person in at a time to review our progress so far in the course. When it was my turn, she asked me about my future as well as my progress within the current and older units. I have told her my future, which is confidential here (but the tutors have every right to view it). Additionally, I currently have one merit and four distinctions and I am extremely proud of myself. However, I still need to keep working hard to achieve the goals I have always imaged at heart. Upon returning to the classroom to work, we eventually had an activity where we all peer reviewed each other's work. This is a good way of letting us view other people's work to gather (not copy) inspiration from one another and to find respective and constructive criticism/feedback from people in your class. Reflecting on this, this relates to the brief where I mentioned that the target audience are 16 - 18 year old's and conveniently/coincidentally, the classmates in my class are within that bracket to help aid me.

Nearer the end of the day, I finally finished my animation that I had planned within my storyboard and added music/sound effects. I spent time amplifying and editing it in Audacity to help adjust the volume. As a bonus, I applied my new skill (importing music) and had imported sound into the interactive buttons. Everything now seems to be on track. I have enjoyed this day and I may come in on Wednesday if I feel that I can improve even more, which is most likely. All I remain left is to finish the design log and document down any improvements necessary needed to improve the visual aesthetics.
P.S: Tomorrow, a very nice person called Tory is coming in to speak to us regarding about the preparation and layouts of our portfolio. I am indeed super early to be thinking about this but I am the type to prepare beforehand so I can feel more confident; this is because I worry a lot and I am a curious learner to begin with. Everything and anything beneficial is always worth staying behind for as it can provide soft skills in life and opportunities that we can not imagine. =)
