Thursday.
We started off with the weekly Thursday quiz Brandon B premade as he is on holiday at this moment. The video was fairly long but we all enjoyed it as it was about Bugs Bunny. At the end of the quiz, I got a total of 5/6 marks as there was six questions. Joe B got the most and won the challenges, and Matthew T got the lowest of 4/6, therefore he has to make the quiz when we come back. At the end of the quiz, I had learnt that it was produced by Leon Schlesinger from the Warner Bros studio. I also learnt that Bugs Bunny existed before Looney Tunes in 1941. Next, we all showcased a part of our current work to give each other a review. We did this by giving an approximate grade and by using LAN School, a screen sharing software which makes the quality extremely poor for observation. I believe this task was good but people judged too early. Our work is not near completion but some people gave us non-constructive critics.
Consequently, we continued our animation work. With the time plan, I know I needed to make the texts in Illustrator so I can distribute it to the group members for their animation scenes. However, I sat next to Matthew B again as he required a lot of work. Throughout the week, I managed to get lots of my split workload completed. Though it isn't finished, I have been working towards finishing my own work but I am always interrupted by Matthew B. I can understand not everyone is good at Flash but I learnt it on the same day. To honestly express myself, when someone can't do something that is a simple problem, they should perform independent research which won't take long. Plus it increases personal intellect. Whilst at it, I asked the team to make the changes for A2 so I can resubmit the work.
Nearer to the end of the day, Adam spoke to me and the group about our current team progress and attitudes. I was told that they did not like me changing their work. Rethinking again, I do not like changing other people's work either but I was able to justify it because I wanted to aim higher with everyone all together. Rather than changing, I was adding instead as sometimes they missed crucial information to reach the criteria. My improvement is to mention it to them rather than doing it myself.
Balancing to my side, I have sacrificed family time, friend time and even personal rest time to work through the whole day till night repeatedly. I am happy Adam is aware I am wanting to achieve the distinction as that is my overall drive. However, the strain caught up and I'm starting to have RSI, injuries from my eye sight to my back pain to deprived of sleep. I understand that everyone has a life but sometimes when college work is important, others should pit in or otherwise I'd be the one to fall too early. Being very honest, I am not upset with the other members as they work at their own speed, I understand their reasons for being themselves but I have realised that I do not like group work as much as I thought I would unless everyone gives it their all, otherwise it isn't fair and this is what happened.
Leaving my negativity aside, I have almost completed all of the workload we split to each other. All I remain is to add text onto the animation scenes me and Matthew B has been working on, updating the dope sheet and finish some final touches such as proof reading. Afterwards if I have time I will help the others. One thing that I must help is the synchronisation of the music when put together. Overall today is composed of three words: stressful, tiring, progress. I guess it's a win-win.
Positivity! Positivity! Good news is that it will be done and Easter holidays is well on its way!
