Before the day began, I spent last night mentally preparing for the new unit as I knew it would be a difficult one to grasp. Therefore I read the text books I purchased and tried to understand the different types of paradigms. In the end, I failed to understand everything. :) (My "I'm screwed" expression).
Today is the start of a brand new unit with the awesome "Jovial John": Software Design Development (U6). We began the day off by completing the survey about this specific unit. In this case, I have almost no knowledge upon this unit but I was eager to step out of my comfort zone and step into the world of programs. Additionally, we also had to finish the survey the "Amazing Adam" sent us last Thursday. (Which I have completed last week). The first task given to us was about trying to explain the progress of different actions by using either a flowchart or a pseudocode. As a result, I found pseudocode very hard although it is easy once one has grasped the concept of it and so I used flowcharts from my experiences in the past.
Afterwards, "Jovial John" introduced us to programming, which is a vast and complex obstacle for beginners like myself. Furthermore, he questioned many of us to see what kind of previous experience other students have taken place. Classmates around the class responded with many different program software's I have not heard of before. It somewhat puts me down as I have no experience on this section, but it made me determined to do the best I can. "Jovial John" explained to us that there are different types of languages used, and that employees can use whichever they prefer in the industry. However, some are definitely harder than others.
Moreover, we were informed about high level and low level of programming. High levels are more English-based, therefore easier to understand by people. On the other hand, low levels are more suited towards machine code. We practiced high level language by building blocks which contains JavaScript under the hood. This ultimately allows the sprite we control to move towards its destination. It got harder and harder throughout "the maze", but as complexity progresses, so does my knowledge. (Some point along the way, famous entrepreneurs explain new features I used. It was very helpful but hard to understand at first).
It's drawing near to the end of the day. We all downloaded Small Basic and "Jovial John" had to re-type his password over a million times for each user on different computers. The amazing "Jovial John" walked us through each concept and taught us a basic understanding of the program. It is incredibly difficult, but it ended up easier during the part where I can self-explore (especially during self-study time). I have started to create an artificial programmed wife for those that are single. Please do not judge me, and thank me later. Lastly, "Jovial John" said that our comprehension of this topic will sometime "click" during the week. I will completely trust his words. But mark mine along the way, if it doesn't "click". Then I will find you, and you will teach me.

Highlights of the day:
- Center Manager "Phenomenal Pete"'s ringtone is very amusing.
- Adam M got dual screens; getting all the ladies LAD.
- I created an artificial wife that can ask what your name is! :D
